Stew Recipe
Stew-recipe.com is unique. The website is one large recipe about how to make a great stew. It gives a generalized set of steps, with specific tips built right in. Various stews of the world are also laid out in general terms to round out the lesson. Stew-recipe.com isn't one stew: it teaches you how to stew.
Web Developers Studio employed the latest techniques to better illustrate the technique: an accordion to summarize the general recipe with particular tips easily viewed in context; a matrix the viewer can play with to see grains and starches by time and type to pair with their stew.

Medical Website
Because Dr. Cindy Parnes was so pleased with the patient response to her WDS-developed website, she recommended our services to her partner.
Dr. Pat Robinson and WDS worked together to design a warm, vibrant web presence to compliment her Bergen County ObGyn practice. We created the site with a pretty gallery and feminine colors to appeal to women in need of an obstetrician or gynecologist. Images of happy, relaxed patients were balanced with textual content underscoring the qualifications and experience of the professional staff.
Dr. Pat was wonderfully adept and engaged throughout the web development process. When she asked for feedback, a knowledgeable associate wrote that he was "truly impressed by your website. Most attractive and informative, in every way." She modestly replied "The webdesigner is really the creative one." Thanks, Dr. Pat!
Bergen County Massage Studio
Elisabeth Lindberg is a successful massage therapist in Ramsey. Born in Sweden, she has a kind manner, reasonable prices and clients who have been loyal for decades. She needed her website to reflect the positive healing techniques that she uses in her lovely studio.
Web Developers Studio designed her new state-of-the-art, custom site for her NJ massage therapy practice. It incorporates the latest technologies: a smooth tabbed section on the home page, a streaming video and a gift certificate mechanism. Social media is baked right in with Facebook and Twitter buttons. The Testimonials page includes the actual handwritten notes as rollovers.

PALS Plus, Passaic County NJ Library Consortium
Ruth Bogan, Executive Director at PALS Plus, a consortium of eighteen libraries, needed a fresh online presence for the organization's website. A traditional content management system had already once been tried and proved cumbersome and onerous to support. Ringwood Library Director Andrea Cahoon recommended Web Developers Studio. A fixed budget and frequently changing library schedules were part of the basic requirements.
We recommended using Google Apps to hold the variable data. Google provides a convenient mechanism, familiar to existing and potential staff. Furthermore, the data is held in the Google servers, one of the world’s most stable and secure data repositories.
We designed a wide, attractive interface that lays out the mission and benefits of the organization. A standard Google calendar widget displays consortium events and a standard Picasa gallery adds warmth and humanity to the home page. To show the members' hours and holiday data, we needed to become a bit more creative. We entered this information into strictly defined Google spreadsheets and used advanced tools to expose the information on hover. The consortium staff updates these spreadsheets as the need arises without incurring extra coding costs or the hassle of maintaining a database or custom scripts on their own servers.
The member board of directors is pleased with the new website and Ms. Bogan twice mentioned that she actually had “fun” during the website development process! Fun is good!
Fashion Boutique
Marie has a great location for her upscale consignment boutique. She's just off fashionable Westwood Avenue in Westwood, New Jersey.
She needed a terrific matching fashionable online presence to complete the look.
Web Developers Studio created this snappy consignment fashions site to show that designer garments can be reasonably priced on consignment.

Ringwood Library, Passaic County: The Jewel of Ringwood
Library Director Andrea Cahoon was so pleased with Web Developers Studio’s work on the Upper Ringwood project, she entrusted us with the development of the new site for the whole Ringwood Library. The Ringwood Library is one of the preeminent public places in Passaic County, NJ. It is a physically beautiful space, having been recently rebuilt under the careful and creative guidance of Ms. Cahoon.
When Terri Karp of Web Developers Studio visited the library, she understood that the rich, deep wood of the physical space would need to be reflected in the site’s design. Ms. Cahoon agrees that the result is modern and calm, sophisticated and playful. A separate kid’s page provides a fun area using a cartoon montage of bright flowers, garden signs and lampposts as shown on the right. A third design to host information about the New Legacy program was also commissioned. This program features well known musical acts, such as Richie Havens and Janis Ian, and it needed to reflect the branding already in place for the program.
The site was set up so that the Ringwood Library, which enjoys the services of expert information professionals, can update the site in limited ways without disturbing the site’s design. Web Developers Studios also worked with information aggregators to allow links to work properly for patrons inside and outside of the library.
A Caring Gyn in Bergen County, NJ
Dr. Cindy Parnes has always excelled: high school valedictorian, magna cum laude from Tufts University and top of her class at medical school. So when she wanted to distinguish her gynecological practice, she came to Web Developers Studio for an exceptional website.
She wanted an informative space to emphasize her seriousness and dedication to her patients. Her warmth and friendliness inspired us to design the site with femininity and openness. We provided a simple two column design that introduces Dr. Parnes and her caring NJ Gyn practice. Since she also provides weight loss and cosmetic procedures for her patients, we added pages that distinguished those services from her central role as gynecologist and surgeon.
Dr. Cindy was ever encouraging about our efforts. Her most recent email includes this simple line: "GREAT JOB!"

Rosemary Dreger Carey has been writing effective marketing copy for over 20 years. As a lifelong environmentalist, her special joy and talent is creating communications for businesses and organizations that are serious about their "green message". Naturally, Rosemary's services are now in high demand. But her web presence didn't fit her own branding, so she asked Web Developers Studio to provide a snappy website to represent her business.

Virtual Museum of the Ramapough Mountain Indians of Ringwood, NJ
The Ringwood Library acquired a grant to document the lives of the Upper Ringwood Indians and contacted Web Developers Studio to make it happen.
Discussions with the Senior Adult Librarian led to the choice of Omeka to house the archive. Web Developers Studio designed a custom look to wrap around the powerful, open source Omeka engine. The nice folks at Omeka noted the beautiful result on their website in these words: "If you thought only large urban libraries (eg, New York Public Library) could launch a unique Omeka-powered digital collection site, think again. The Ringwood Public Library in New Jersey recently released, the Upper Ringwood Collection with a great theme designed by the Web Developers Studio."
The Ringwood Library is also well pleased with their new "Virtual Museum" and commissioned Web Developers Studio to redesign their main library website. We'll have an update on that project soon.
Raintree Veterinary Hospital
A client recommended Web Developers Studio to Raintree Vet in Freehold, NJ. Dr. Tracie Glicker and Dr. Dana Schoelen were disappointed by the slow response and high cost of their previous website developer and host. Even worse they felt the site did not reflect the warmth and top-notch professionalism of their office or their pride in keeping up with the latest technological innovations on behalf of their patients.

Web Developers Studio developed cvarcnj.org to have a clean, no-nonsense appeal appropriate to an Ambulance and Rescue Corps while making their commitment and camaraderie evident and appealing.
A Google calendar is embedded into the Events page to keep the Corps' events organized and in the public eye.

The Ethical Culture Society of Bergen County needed to get the word out. With their progressive philosophy, their website needed to be up-to-date and appealing to a younger audience.
With a a tight budget, but lots of events and content, we kept prices down Web Developers Studio created this modern website, ethicalfocus.org using an the content management system Joomla.
We customized the template to include a warm images of the family-oreinted activites and updated their logo.
Book Promotion
Amy J. L. Baker, PhD, has written a groundbreaking book about an important social issue. She was presenting it as a guest on popular radio shows and being interviewed by the New York Times.
So she needed an attractive site to represent her work to the public and the media.
Web Developers Studio created a just-right site for her at AmyJLBaker.com. Modern and stylish, yet simple enough not to distract from her important and serious message.
The site includes an embedded video posted to Google for additional attention.
Product Promotion
Jim needed a new marketing niche for his great product within a crowded and competitive field. He introduced himself by describing his "granular septic additive product". This was perhaps the most interesting marketing challenge yet for Web Developers Studio.
We went to work creating a design that would distance the product from notions of "sewage and septic" and instead conjure notions of "cleanliness".
A compelling lifestyle image anchors the site and implies the need for Jim's product to keep yards healthy and clean. The problem is boldly identified and the solution is presented simply in large bullet points. A detailed explanation to clinch the deal is explained on the Technical Info page.
In the initial discussions WDS found that Jim had many testimonials. Some of the handwritten letters were touching, some funny, and many on fanciful stationary. We knew we needed to incorporate actual images of them, but they would take up too much room to be simply included in the body of the web page. We used a mouseover technique to allow the full view of each letter to add authenticity to the site without weighing down the page.
Web Developers Studio recommended and acquired a domain name, SepticAdditive.com, that incorporates important keywords for the product to encourage organic searches.
